Accessibility Statement

Our commitment
We want Tech2Xplore to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using assistive technology. This statement describes where things currently stand — honestly, not aspirationally.
Current state
Tech2Xplore has not completed a formal accessibility audit against a standard like WCAG 2.1, and no conformance level is claimed. A first, scoped accessibility pass has been done — see below for exactly what it covered — but it was a targeted set of fixes, not a comprehensive audit. This statement will be updated with a real conformance level once that audit happens.
What's been addressed
- A visible focus ring on every interactive element when navigating by keyboard
- A "skip to main content" link on every page, letting keyboard/screen-reader users bypass the header navigation
- The current page is announced to assistive technology in the main navigation and admin sidebar
- The theme toggle and mobile menu controls have proper labels and state for assistive technology
- Motion respects the operating system's "reduce motion" setting
What hasn't been addressed yet
- Color contrast has not been formally checked against WCAG thresholds in either theme
- The mobile navigation drawer doesn't yet trap keyboard focus while open, or return focus to the menu button on close
- No formal screen-reader testing (VoiceOver, NVDA, JAWS) has been completed
- Form validation errors haven't been audited for how they're announced to assistive technology
